What Is Boost Oxygen?
Boost Oxygen is portable pure oxygen for all-natural respiratory support. No prescription is needed. It is used by athletes for recovery and performance, older adults for an active lifestyle, people at high-altitudes for altitude acclimation and those experiencing poor air quality. Did you know the air we breathe contains only 21% oxygen – the majority is 78% nitrogen. Our body needs oxygen to make energy. Founded in 2007, Boost Oxygen provides easy and immediate access to supplemental oxygen. You can depend on the quality of our product and it is made in the USA at our factory in Connecticut. What’s the difference between Boost Oxygen and the air I breathe?
In normal conditions, the air we breathe contains around 21% oxygen. Many people are surprised to read that fact. The majority of the air we breathe is 78% nitrogen. That’s also not taking into account any pollution in the air. Boost Oxygen is PURE supplemental oxygen. It contains nearly 5X the pure oxygen you breathe normally.
Is Boost Oxygen the Same as Medical-Grade Oxygen?
Our product is not a substitute for individuals who have been prescribed medical oxygen for health reasons. Boost Oxygen is intended for non-medical use. Oxygen therapies that are prescribed by a doctor to treat medical conditions are defined as 99.2% (or above) pure oxygen. Boost Oxygen is Supplemental Breathing Oxygen. Although both are produced in a similar manner, Boost Oxygen is designed for people looking to experience the benefits of purified oxygen in the different facets of their life. No prescription is needed to purchase Boost Oxygen. Each canister is high pressure filled with 99.5% pure oxygen. This high concentration of O2 gas dilutes very slightly when mixed with the trace amount of existent ambient air (21% O2, 78% N) in the can. The resulting contents of each canister after filling is guaranteed to contain 95% or higher pure oxygen.
Is Boost Oxygen FDA Approved?
While Boost Oxygen is considered an oxygen supplement, we are regulated by the Consumer Product Safety Commission and not the FDA. No supplemental oxygen product is FDA approved. If they claim to be, they are not being honest. Our product is intended to help people feel better, recover fast and improve performance for altitude, working out, sports and general health and wellness – not for the treatment of any sickness.
Why we put Aromatherapy Scents in our Product
Boost Oxygen comes in Natural (unscented) and REVIVE Peppermint, BREATHE Menthol-Eucalyptus, BALANCE Pink Grapefruit, CALM Lavender, SPORT Orange and FOCUS Rosemary. We use 100% natural, plant-based extracts to enhance the oxygen, by offering an additional therapeutic benefit. The aromas are used for a specific purpose, not just to make the oxygen “smell good.” The plant extracts for the aromas come from the Michigan-based Lebermuth company, who have been developing safe aromas for over 100 years. The aromas are safe for inhalation, made from organic plant extracts. To learn more, see the article “What is the Right Boost Oxygen Cannister for me” on our website to understand more about the different sizes and aromas.
Other Common Questions about Boost Oxygen
A lot of people believe oxygen is flammable. This is by far THE MOST common misconception we see posted about oxygen. Oxygen itself is NOT flammable and does NOT burn. But it can feed an EXISTING fire, so it’s dangerous to use any oxygen tank around something that is burning because it will help the fire burn more quickly. In other words, oxygen isn’t the problem – it’s the existing fire.
Another question we receive is whether you can bring Boost Oxygen on an airplane? Although Boost Oxygen is all-natural and safe, the FAA and TSA do not allow recreational oxygen in carry-on or checked baggage on commercial flights. Our recommendation if you wish to use it while traveling is to have Boost Oxygen shipped to wherever you are heading or purchase it once you get to your destination.
The last common question we receive is Why is Boost Oxygen so lightweight? Is my canister empty? So oxygen gas is virtually weightless. Boost Oxygen cans are very light, but they are guaranteed as full. The weight of a full can feels empty as the oxygen inside has no discernible mass. This weight advantage makes Boost Oxygen cans convenient to carry anywhere. We even place a sticker on each canister telling customers our cans are lightweight. Customers have suggested that we should add weight to the cans, but we believe that would be disingenuous and it would also add additional cost to the consumer.
Additional Facts about Oxygen
Oxygen is obviously required to sustain human life. When deprived of oxygen, performance of the body and mind can suffer. At sea level, the average oxygen content in the air is 21%. At altitude, it can be much less. Boost Oxygen provides a convenient source of pure supplemental oxygen.
- Humans have evolved over millions of years with a consistent amount of oxygen in the atmosphere. In today’s world, it’s not always possible to get enough clean air to breathe.
- Only 1/5 of the earth’s atmosphere is made up of oxygen.
- If you factor in the growing problem of pollution, you’ll agree with some research reports that there’s as much as a 30% cut in oxygen compared to past generations.
- Every cell in your body is designed to burn oxygen–it’s the basic fuel for cell metabolism. Cut back on oxygen and all of those cellular processes become sluggish.. you start to feel fatigued or short of breath.
- More oxygen equates to cells having the energy they need to repair, improved immune response, and better overall health.
