Boost Oxygen Aromas

The Difference Between An “Aroma” And “Flavor” And Why It Matters

Boost Oxygen is the only portable oxygen brand that offers aromatherapy scents. Boost Oxygen comes in Natural (unscented) and five aromatherapy fragrances – Pink Grapefruit, Peppermint and Menthol-Eucalyptus. We also produce THINK TANK, an oxygen nootropic with Rosemary aroma, as well as BOOST SPORT which contains Orange aroma.

We often hear people refer to our aromas as “flavors” – but this is incorrect. A FLAVOR involves the senses inside our mouth, including the tongue. An AROMA occurs inside our noses and relates specifically to our sense of smell (not our tongue).

Your sensory organs and brain process taste (flavor) and smell (aroma) much differently, and the effects they have on our body are very different. Aromas are received by receptors in the nose, which send signals to the olfactory bulb of the brain to create an appropriate response; humans have about 12 million receptors.

Why is this important? Because aromatherapy can have specific benefits for your health and well-being that flavors do not. This is why we offer natural, healthy and organic AROMATHERAPY SCENTS, and not FLAVORS.

What Is Aromatherapy and What Are The Benefits?

Aromatherapy, or essential oil therapy, refers to a range of traditional, alternative or complementary therapies that use essential oils and other aromatic plant compounds.

Essential oils have been used for nearly 6,000 years, with the aim of improving a person’s health or mood. Aromatic plants have been used for centuries for medicinal purposes by ancient civilizations such as Hebrew, Christian, Roman, Greek and Egyptian.

The National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy (NAHA) defines aromatherapy as “the therapeutic application or the medicinal use of aromatic substances (essential oils) for holistic healing.”

We don’t offer aromas to make Boost “smell or taste good”. We use 100% natural, plant-based extracts to enhance the oxygen, by offering an additional therapeutic benefit. Here are some of the benefits of our specific aromas according to the National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy (NAHA):

Menthol-Eucalyptus aroma: Menthol-Eucalyptus aroma is very popular during winter. Why? The scent has long been used for respiratory support and is present in many well-known medical products. The aroma has also been known to ease the discomfort of blocked airways associated with cold weather, helping you breathe easier.

Peppermint aroma: Can provide a boost of energy and help mental alertness.

Pink Grapefruit aroma: Known to reduce stress, mood uplifting, refreshing, reviving, improves mental clarity and awareness and sharpens the senses.

Rosemary aroma: Scholars in ancient Greece were known to wear wreaths of rosemary around their brow to improve recall while taking exams.

Our aromas are completely safe and natural for inhalation, made from organic plant extracts by the Michigan-based Lebermuth company, who have been developing safe aromas for over 100 years. Lebermuth adheres to strict industry and regulatory requirements to provide safe and healthy aromas and fragrances.
